1. Avatar Movie
James Cameron has made quite a devastatingly brilliant impact to the
film industry over the past 30-odd years, with films including the first
2 Terminators (the good ones) and Aliens. But Avatar is something quite
different. First things first, the graphics are amazing. Truly
breathtaking and, of course, very good in 3-D. However, this appears to
be the main thing on Cameron's mind throughout the film, with a script
that, let's face it, is very predictable. The main let down of this film
is, like Titanic, that it's just too long. Too long for it to be
thoroughly entertaining, at any rate. If there were any unseen twists or
surprises or just generally (sorry Cameron) a little bit of originality
with it's overall plot then I may have enjoyed it a lot more than I
did. Although it is very detailed, you can just see what's going to
happen; and waiting roughly 3 hours to discover that you're right, just
brings the whole film down a bit. I guess the overall hype of this film
is another reason why I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would;
perhaps my expectations were too high. As opposed to seeing it as one of
the best films ever (as many have), I see Avatar as a new way to use
graphics and 3-D to help the audience enjoy film in a new way. Overall,
good performances, great graphics, but predictable script, and overly
long. But apart from a few downsides. Avatar is still worth a watch.
2. Walking Dead Season II

stay alive.

On October 3rd, 1993, 120 Delta Force Commandos and Army Rangers were
dropped into the heart of Mogadishu, Somalia. Their mission was a fast
daylight raid to kidnap lead terrorist Mohammed Farrah Aidid, who had
been killing U.N. workers delivering food to starving Somalis. Aidid’s
goal was to control the country by controlling all the food. The
U.S. raid went off with clockwork precision, until the unexpected

8. The adventure
A
short that brings horror comedy to an all-new, tongue-in-cheek level,
"The Adventure" tells the story of a retired couple who experience a
strange encounter on a quiet, forested road.
Director Mike Brune
is not afraid to have his camera linger for long periods on the scene.
It's a refreshingly classic technique not practised very often these
days -- there's something reminiscent of The Shining with its use in
this film. With the rest of the cinema audience, I teetered between
amusement at the absurdity of the situation and a kind of foreboding
feeling: there's some strange sense of malevolence in this film, a
sensation of danger and violence being mere moments away.
The
perfectly-delivered comic dialogue is the icing on the cake. If Donald
Barthelme had been a filmmaker, he would have made something like this.
It's definitely worth a look; at the time of writing, it's playing at
the 2009 Sydney Film Festival.
9. X-men 3
It has been several months since The X-Men stopped William Stryker, but
that victory came at a price: they have lost Jean Grey when she tried to
save them from the collapsed reservoir. Scott Summers (Cyclops) is
still grieving about her loss. One day, he comes out to the place where
Jean Grey sacrificed herself. Jean Grey appears right in front of him.
Meanwhile, the rift between humans and mutants has finally reached the
boiling point. Humans have discovered what causes humans to mutate and

When news about the cure comes to Magneto, he decides to organize an
army of mutants and wage his war against the humans. When Jean Grey
evolves into the Phoenix, her new mutant powers are so strong that she
can not control her own body. Then, she kills off Professor X with her
new powers. Now, The X-Men must stop Magneto again and put an end to the
war against the humans, as well as stop Jean Grey's Phoenix powers
